Very readable resource of scientific evidence and reasonin

Dr. Walter T. Brown, a retired MIT Prof, retired full Colonel from the Air Force, has written a book that is one of the best compilations of scientific evidences and reasonings regarding the origins question.
One of the books great features is that it is about 30% quotes from well known and regarded scientists and publications. Another great feature is the surprisingly simple and logical explanations of current geophysical attributes that haven't been solidly explained by any current threories.
Dr. Brown plainly outlines how that from a scienific point of view organic macroevolution lacks necessary physical evidence. Even more seriously, it lacks any concrete plausible mechanisms, as many of the people quoted in his book readily say.
This book will give any open reader more than adequate material to really think about. To the closed reader, the sources quoted would be almost heroes, so he/she would really have a hard time arguing. I would especially encourage all opponents to an extranatural origin model to read this book. I would also highly engcourage any seeking student to read this to find out what science really knows, or professes to know. This book has had a tremendous impact on my life, especially my thought process and the way I view earth. This book will definitely make you think and possibly question what you believe and know, or think you know..

The evidence for extreme complexity in nature is overwhelming, i.e.: DNA/RNA; the human brain; the human eye; butterflies, # of species, plants& elements; & on & on!

Incomplete and inconsistent collage

The article of 19 pages is incomplete with numerous errors. It has no pictures, but makes reference to them. It appears that the author pieced together paragraphs from various newspaper articles. The overall effect results an illogical rambling of buzz words. Do not waste time with this. It should be removed as a choice for Amazon readers.

GURU JAGAT is one of the youngest senior Kundalini Yoga teachers in the world and the face of the new Kundalini movement. SO highly recommended

I first heard about Guru Jagat through a friend, and I am beyond grateful to have been introduced to this exceptional teacher. I have been to yoga classes in the past that made me feel judged, pigeonholed, or somehow inadequate. As the complete opposite of that, Guru Jagat is a breath of fresh air, and a ray of hope for the future of yoga. She is a woman on a mission to make things better for others, whoever they are, whatever their habits may be, despite what they may have done in the past. It is very difficult for me to attend her classes, so I have been looking forward to the release of this book. Invincible Living is a journey into your own personal strength—a strength that Guru Jagat helps you access through her teachings on beauty, sex, healing, diet, wellness, and relationships. I can’t speak for others, but I can say that I feel completely transformed for the better after finding this practice. I cannot remember the last time I felt so excited about a book—probably never. I cannot recommend it enough.

Life changing!

I found Kundalini yoga this year because of Guru Jagat's fantastic method of taking holy teachings and making them so widely accessible and relatable. My previous attempts to familiarize myself with Kundalini felt odd and completely unrelated to my modern life and I soon gave it up. I am now hooked and have seen, in such a little amount of time, the wondrous technology this is. It is proof positive that with the right teacher the skies the limit. This book takes her classes and brings them into your home. Her writing is accessible and fluid and when you're not loving her profound teachings you're loving that she is quick with a joke and doesn't make spiritual seem unattainable. She is the modern Guru this world so desperately needs today.

I was given this book as a gift and I cannot put it down. I am new to kundalini yoga and the author explains the teachings in a very easy to digest manner. After practicing some of the meditations in the book I feel more energized. I feel good. This book has motivated me to amp up my yoga and meditation practice. I am practicing one of the meditations in the book everyday and I am seeing profound changes in my life for the better. A beautiful way to start 2017! This book is a gem!

Quintieri Lays out the Truth about the Economic Decay and Fiscal Recklessness That Are Leading to Economic Catastrophe

I watch David Quintieri's YouTube broadcasts, "The Money G.P.S." faithfully; they appear almost daily. David's advice is sensible and pertinent, attempting to guide consumers and investors through the "Rocks and Shoals" of the current disastrous downturn, which, as he emphasises with prudence but not dismally, inevitably will lead to a tremendous crash. The main aim of David Quintieri's fellow Canadians, and of Americans perhaps even more so, is simply to survive the looming disaster. Quintieri offers advice on how to make the most of a bad situation throughout the "Western world" and, foremost, to get out from all indebtedness and to guard what wealth that one has from very substantial or even total loss.

The book is simple to understand, without being simplistic. The inclusion of an index would have been helpful, but the book is rather brief and quite well organised, so that it is relatively easy to negotiate one's way around in it even in the absence of such a feature. The author's English usage is dodgy at times, another reason to withhold a full five-stars rating to a book that would have profited from some further and better polishing than Quintieri's copy editor, Jim Stewart, and proofreading service, J.M.S. Educational Services (with which Stewart has been allied, that bears his initials, and alike is mentioned on the verso of the title page) would seem to be able to provide adequately enough.

The information and advice in this cautionary and practical book is NOT about "business as usual". It concerns, rather, how to proceed and to reason in times when, in the face of massive lying and statistical falsification from the U.S., U.K., and other governments, utter financial and other ruin is what is looming over Canada, the improvident and irresponsible Ignited State of 'Oink' (i.e., the U. S. of A.), Japan, the U.K., and over the European Union.

About the Author

Dr Charles Guest has worked in government and academic public health in Australia and elsewhere, following graduation from Melbourne, Deakin and Harvard Universities. After medical registration in 1980 and clinical practice in Melbourne, he joined the Epidemic Intelligence Service, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, posted to the New York City Department of Health in 1984. Subsequently, he undertook research on chronic disease in Australian Aborigines, communicable disease and environmental health. He is currently a Senior Specialist in Population Health, Australian Capital Territory Government, and Adjunct Professor in the College of Medicine, Biology and Environment, Australian National University.

Professor Walter Ricciardi is the Director of the Institute of Hygiene, Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Rome. He graduated from the University of Naples (Medicine and Surgery) in 1984, specialised in Hygiene and Preventive Medicine in 1988 and obtained his MSc (Community Medicine) at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 1989. Since 1993 he has held a number of key positions including President of the European Public Health Association, and has undertaken work with the World Health Organisation and the European Union. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine, Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom and is a Member of the National Board of Medical Examiners, USA.


Dr Ichiro Kawachi is Professor of Social Epidemiology, and Chairman of the Department of Society, Human Development and Health, at the Harvard School of Public Health. Kawachi received his medical degree and Ph.D. (epidemiology) from the University of Otago, New Zealand. He is the author of over 400 articles on the social and economic determinants of population health. He was the co-editor (with Lisa Berkman) of the first textbook on Social Epidemiology, published by Oxford University Press in 2000. He is also Senior Editor of the Social Epidemiology section of the international journal Social Science & Medicine. He has served as an advisor to the WHO, the World Bank, and the Pan American Health Organization.


Dr Iain Lang is a Consultant in Public Health with NHS Devon Primary Care Trust and a Senior Lecturer in Public Health based at the National Institute for Health Research Peninsula Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (PenCLAHRC), Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry, Exeter, UK. His practice and research interests are in the health of middle-aged and older people, quality of care, and health service improvement.

Public health practice: a concise, useful, portable pocket-sized volume

This is the third edition of TOHoPHP, just published in 2013. It runs to 629 pages including index, a compact softcover volume small enough to fit in a pocket or handbag.

The book contains 7 major sections further subdivided, the whole publication very well organized. The major sections are:

1 Scoping public health
2 Data and information
3 Direct action
4 Policy arenas
5 Health care systems
6 Personal effectiveness
7 Organizations

The writing style is lively and engaging, with just the right amount of informative content for the professional without getting bogged down in minutiae. For example the excellent sections on qualitative methods and epidemiological design, and on the real meaning and use of statistics, are demystified in clear language and a joy to read.

There are very good sections on developing leadership skills, managing effective meetings, `effective writing' and `working with the media' which readers may find relevant to their professional skillset even if they are not engaged in public health. There is even a sub-section on how to develop a business plan and construct a business case - skills more useful than ever before to those working at senior levels in public health.

Overall: a great little book, packed with pertinent advice not only for health care professionals but for those working in related areas. The level of literacy and proofreading are as exemplary as one would expect from this publisher. The highlight-colour of the text is pale green and the book is supplied with two ribbons, one white and one green, as page-marks. The editors have succeeded in making what might have been a work of dry academia into an engaging and useful volume designed to be carried around and used, rather than gather dust on a shelf.
